2010-03-03 brothers meet brothers 39

On Saturday 28th of January 2012 at the George Pentland Gardens you are invited to welcome & support Marg Phelan, former President of the Australian College of Midwives and NT Midwife of the Year in 2008. Marg with her team is cyling around Australia to promote continuity of care from a known midwife, normal birth and breastfeeding. They set out from Darwin and over 10 000 km later are now half-way! Please pass  this information on to anyone you think would be interested in supporting this wonderful cause....

We believe that every Australian woman is entitled to make these choices and that far too many women are not well informed about their options in pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting.

Marg Phelan, armed with years of experience as a mother and midwife would like to share some stories with you as well as listen to some of your stories and answer any questions you have. To find out more about her and her journy go to www.gogirlaustralia.net.au & to see more details about Inge's story & the picnic click the read more link below.....

Where - George Pentland Botanic Gardens, Frankston, entrance at gate 5 on Williams St oposite Victoria Pde

When - Saturday 28th January 12pm

Who - This picnic is open to anyone interested in natural births, making your own choices, breastfeeding, etc. marg

Personally I met Marg in Darwin hospital now 6 year ago where she assisted me with the waterbirth of my first son Yoyo (she had the night shift but stayed with me till lunch the next day!!!). We became friends and when I was pregnant with my second baby she opened her house for a home birth (as we lived in a remote community). When pregnant with my 3rd son I had moved to Frankston, so she came down here and we had a waterbirth at home in the kitchen! I can say that I highly value continuity of care with 1 or 2 midwives so you are a person with your own stories rather than just one of many preganant woman.
Hope to meet you on the 4th
Inge, Patrick, Yoyo, Lucky and Jasper
