Having a spiritual practice is very important for being able to connect and to tap in with what’s really going on within. As people we are all subjected to constant barrage of energy coming in all different directions that the more time we spend in aligning with ourselves and Divine Spirit the stronger, the wiser and the more serene we become. But the idea or implementing yet something else that we are ‘suppose’ to be doing causes stress and anxiety; the exact opposite of what we are trying to create.
So how can we unplug and connect? How do we grow a relationship with our soul when we don’t have 4 hours to go and meditate on a mountain somewhere?
We listen!
Life, The Universe, Consciousness, God; whatever title you want to use for the interaction we have between ourselves and the world the surrounds us, speaks to us all the time. So what’s she saying… well that’s up to whoever is listening! Because the remarkable thing is that the messages for each one of us are attuned for our ears only.
For example, every morning I go out to feed my cats and every morning without fail as I walk onto the earth, before me lays a black feather… Without fail! Now some may see this as just a bird’s feather, and yes it is true there are many birds that visit our place but I notice it, I interpret that as gift, a greeting to begin the day. It may be just a coincidence or it may be the divine speaking to me. Another one, walking in the park on a table there were some seemingly random leaves and bark placed in a neat little pile. I interpreted this as someone leaving behind an offering, marking a moment with gratitude and love. It may well have been some stuff just piled there from children playing, but for me, it’s more than that! And within each small gesture I encounter, in each interpretation, I am awake. I am awake and I am listening.
So what is your world trying to tell you? In what ways are you shown that life is a gift worth savoring? Try not to over think it just go with it because when we listen we are present. And to be present is when we are open to receiving more abundance and more beauty. Even if you don’t believe in a power beyond your own that’s ok too, surrendering to yourself as the high power is the same thing. Divinity has no limits, no rules, and no laws. It is ours for the shaping. I wish you joy for your month ahead

The following is a small walking ritual that I integrate into my own spiritual practice. The idea found me whilst walking on a day where I was quite tense and had a lot of things crowding my general sense of wellbeing. As my feet pounded the pavement I intuitively just began the process of consciously letting go of everything that was on my mind. I was literally identifying the “stuff” and then walking away from it all. As I began to exhale the depleting thoughts my soul began to lift as I walked and walked and just letting it all fall behind me positive and clarifying ones. It was invigorating on all levels. Not only was I gaining the benefit of exercise I was literally becoming lighter as I identified and let go of that which was weighing me down. There was something in the physical element of walking
What you will need…
Destination and time: Know where you are going and how long you are going for. An hour of walking is perfect. It is enough to unwind, to allow the stress of the day fall away and to get into a good walking pace. Relaxing into the rhythm opens us to receive and listen to what is moving around within becoming much easier and more natural. A set route will enable you to just walk without thinking so I recommend somewhere that is familiar also.
Intention: This is the biggie. What do we want to connect with? Or what do we want to release? This is the perfect time to get real with ourselves we are alone with our own being. We can say what we want to say without judgement without criticism of another. If you find it hard to be REAL with others sometimes that’s ok as long as we are being REAL with ourselves; that’s what will bring wholeness.
So as we walk ask...”What is it that I am holding onto?” “What do I need to release?”
Action: I find saying a little mantra or prayer out loud helps to clarify and cement exactly what I am to let go off. “…In this moment I release the need to hold onto my fear of beginning this project and welcome and open to the possibilities that it may bring…” Let it come from you your own words, let your heart say what you need to hear. Then take a deep breath in and exhale… and I just keep repeating it I just keep saying it over and over again inhaling and exhaling until I feel a shift. Until I feel within that moment that I am free from that which holds me. This is not to say that I am free from feeling fear.
This is only one example of tapping into the depth and wisdom that sits inside you. You hold all the power all the knowledge all the love and all the courage you could ever need remember that know that love that about yourself
